And A Turkey Baby WaS Born!
As
Shawn and I enjoyed a romantic anniversary meal at the Tallahassee Mall,
I told him about the increasing pains I was having down the front of my
legs. Just as the sentence
left my mouth, I looked at Shawn in shock as I felt a pop and a gush.
My water broke right there at the Mall.
We quickly excused ourselves from dinner and went home to spend
our first five hours of labor. With
Lydia being past due we never thought this moment would come. Sure
enough we were bound to have a Turkey baby, just what the doctor wanted.
I was in labor for 20 hours with Shawn by my side, holding my hand.
Then finally the moment came, we saw our little Lydia for the first time
at 3:50 in the afternoon on Thanksgiving day.
Daddy was great! He watched it all and even cut the cord.
Then she breast fed immediately for 20 minutes- she is a great
eater. Weighing in at 8 pounds 8 ounces, and 21 inches long- she is
a precious jewel. Experiencing
her birth was such a
blessing.
